Telemedicine by SuperKids Pediatrics!
March 19, 2020Dr. Medina and our staff’s commitment with our patients has never been stronger! We keep adjusting and putting our resources where you need them the most so you can keep counting on us either for a safe place during a Well Child examination, or access to care during sick needs or acute concerns. Telemedicine is a tool that holds promise during this health emergency, by facilitating acute symptoms management and coordination of care, when needed, while maintaining minimum physical interaction outside of the comfort of your home.
We are excited about the opportunity to bring to our established patients and families, starting March 23, this HIPAA and PHI compliance platform, aimed to improve access to our providers. We will be facilitating this resource for telehealth encounters with sick or acute concerns and follow ups, care maintenance for medically complex children, and those with chronic conditions, such as asthma, chronic lung disease, autism, diabetes, and behavioral health.
You don’t need to download an app! It is our intention that the platform is user-friendly and can be accessed with any device with a camera, speaker, microphone and access to the internet (computers, tablets, smart phones). It is also our intention that our telemedicine resources, procedures and third-party providers comply with criteria established by Medicaid and those insurances covering telehealth.
With the aim to improve the overall telehealth experience we ask that you call (561-619-2460) during normal working hours, to schedule your telemedicine consultation and obtain additional details. There is a $45 fee for this service, however, your active insurance policy on file will be billed, and you will be responsible for the portion your health insurance does not cover. During this health emergency, Medicaid and most insurances are covering telemedicine through your primary care provider (PCP). We encourage you to contact your insurance to learn the coverage for your policy. Thanks!
